As cosmetic surgery professionals, Dr. Boudana and his team have a great deal of experience in intimate surgeries. They will personalize their approach, be attentive to your expectations, and provide precise, individualized information.

Some women perceive their labia minora (inner lips) and clitoral hood to be disproportionate in size. It should be noted that there are no anatomical and aesthetic standards regarding the size and appearance of the labia minora. As such, the desire to have surgery is based solely on physical discomfort and self-consciousness regarding anatomy.

There are several reasons for wanting to have labia minora reduction surgery. In some cases, excess skin on the labia minora or clitoral hood may cause pain or itching from friction, irritation or infection. In addition, an elongated labia minora, sometimes one that hangs below the labia majora, can cause discomfort during sex and negatively impact a women’s enjoyment and pleasure.

Health insurance may only cover the procedure if it is deemed medically necessary (infections, documented irritation). However, please note that we do not perform any procedures covered by health insurance. If you believe that this procedure is medically necessary for you (infections, irritations, documented vulvar lesions), you will have to be referred to a hospital to perform a non-cosmetic labiaplasty.

The procedure

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia, which means that you will be awake and conscious during the surgery. A local anaesthetic is injected with a very fine needle. Contrary to what you may think, the injection is not very painful.

There are several surgical methods available and Dr. Boudana will perform the one adapted to your anatomy and desired outcome to obtain the best result.

After surgery, you should avoid long walks for two weeks, and refrain from engaging in sexual activity for six weeks.

Overview of labia majora augmentation

Objective: Intimate surgery to correct the loss of firmness and fullness of the labia majora.
Anaesthesia: Local
Procedure duration: 1 hour
Pain level: 3/10
Recovery time: 7 to 14 days
Resumption of physical activities: 3 weeks

Various factors can change the appearance of a woman’s genitalia over the course of her life. These include pregnancy, weight gain or loss, aging, and hormonal changes. Sometimes the labia majora will lose fullness and make the vulva appear less attractive. Labia majora augmentation is a simple, effective procedure to restore the youthful appearance of the external genitalia.

The procedure

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and consists in a fat cell graft. Fat is removed from other parts of the body through liposuction. This fat is purified and reinjected into the labia majora with small cannulas measuring 1-mm in diameter, which are inserted through one or two mini incisions.
