Breast Lift with Implants Toronto

Breast Lift with Implants or Mastopexy Augmentation in Toronto

Breast Lift with Implants is medically known as Mastopexy Augmentation. Dr. David Boudana, Specialist Plastic Surgeon, regularly performs this challenging procedure to lift and fill out droopy or saggy breasts. The Breast lift procedure aims to restore the breasts to a natural position on the chest wall. In contrast, the augmentation or adding breast implants aims to return firmness and fullness to the breasts – especially the upper breast or upper pole.

Dr. Boudana can also adjust the nipples/areola during your surgery. This can involve resizing or recontouring the nipple/areolas and relocating them to a more natural position on the breast. All surgeries are performed at his Forest Hill, Toronto, private plastic surgery clinic.

Are You a Good Candidate for Breast Lift With Implants?

Sagging, ptotic breasts and heavy breasts can lead to chronic pain or skin inflammation, and in these cases, the breast surgery is more likely to be corrective or reconstructive. Consider the following questions if you are considering a breast lift procedure with implants:

  • Do your breasts droop or sag?
  • Are they noticeably asymmetric (uneven)
  • Have you experienced significant changes to your breasts after pregnancy or weight loss?
  • Are you at your ideal weight?
  • Do you find your breasts or cleavage hangs too low?
  • Have you finished having children?
  • Do you have over-stretched or enlarged nipples after breastfeeding?

Breast Lift with Implants helps Ptotic Breasts

Breast Ptosis or Ptotic Breasts is the natural consequence of ageing, where the breasts and nipples gradually droop and sag.

The rate at which a woman’s breasts droop and the degree of ptosis depend on several factors. These include:

  • Skin heredity and genetics.
  • Significant weight gain or weight loss – BMI shifts.
  • Pregnancy and Breast Feeding.
  • Heavy glandular breasts or,
  • Having big breast implants in the past.
  • Impact of Breastfeeding Infants.
  • Effects of Smoking on your skin and blood flow.

Post-menopausal women and those with more collagen deficiencies may experience more drastic ptosis due to a loss of skin elasticity.

Four Surgical Techniques for Breast Lift with Implants Surgery

There are a variety of techniques recognized for augmentation mastopexy. In Australia, these include:

The Crescent Breast Lift

This is a simple breast lift procedure that corrects only mild ptosis. It is not usually recommended for a breast lift with implants, as only a small crescent of tissue above the areola is removed before raising the nipple into a higher position.

The Doughnut Lift

Also known as a “Doughnut Mastopexy.” This is best used for mild to moderate ptosis. This is generally around Grade I-II on the ptosis scale. Dr. Boudana removes a doughnut-shaped piece of tissue from around the areola before reattaching it to the remaining tissue to your areola.

The Anchor Breast Lift

The incision pattern is shaped like an Anchor, with a large horizontal scar under the breast. This is the classic incision method used by many doctors in Australia. There is a more modern alternative.

Lollipop Lift

Lollipop Lift provides more lift than the doughnut lift, especially for those with moderate ptosis. Dr. Boudana removes a doughnut-shaped piece of tissue. However, in addition to this, a straight incision is made down to the breast crease to provide more lift. This is a more modern technique.

How are Breast Lift Scars minimized?

All surgery leaves scars, including plastic surgery procedures like breast lifts with implants. However, experienced surgeons like Dr. David Boudana are cautious about scar placement and minimization, with surgical scars generally fading over time.
