The aging process inevitably leads to the appearance of wrinkles and folds in certain well-defined areas of the face.

Aesthetic medicine frequently uses botulinum toxin and injectable dermal fillers to counteract the effects of aging.

Botulinum toxin acts differently from fillers.

While injectable fillers help restore volume loss and reduce the appearance of age-related conditions, botulinum toxin injections relax specific muscles making certain facial lines such as the forehead lines disappear or soften.

Combined with complementary treatments such as upper or lower blepharoplasty, dermal fillers (Juvederm®, Belotero®, etc.), CO2 laser resurfacing or laser treatment for hyperpigmentation, botulinum toxin injections can significantly improve age-related conditions.

What products are used?

There are several botulinum toxin brands on the market and we have a great deal of experience with all products (Botox®, Xeomin®, Dysport®, Jeuveau™).

What can be treated?

Botulinum toxin injections can improve the appearance of facial aging by mainly treating:
Forehead wrinkles: horizontal lines of the forehead;
Glabellar wrinkles: vertical lines between the eyes;
Crow’s feet wrinkles: wrinkles at the outer corners of the eye.

There are other applications of botulinum toxin that require a particular mastery of the injection technique and a thorough knowledge of facial anatomy. Thus, botulinum toxin can also be used to improve the position of an eyebrow that is too low, to correct a square jaw due to an overly strong masseter muscle, but also to reduce sweating in certain patients suffering from hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).

What is the recommended injection frequency?

After a while, your body will metabolize the botulinum toxin and the effects may begin to diminish.

Depending on the patient, the injections may be repeated every four to six months.

What are the risks of botulinum toxin injections?

Any procedure has risks and dermal fillers are no exception.

These risks should be discussed during the medical consultation prior to the treatment.

Our team is highly qualified and has years of experience in the use of dermal fillers. We use the latest techniques.
