CO2 laser skin resurfacing is an abrasive technique which, through its deep action, promotes the regeneration of a new, healthier skin layer and stimulates the production of collagen during healing.

You will notice a significant reduction in the appearance of imperfections in the skin surface such as wrinkles, fine lines, enlarged pores and acne scars in the treated areas (face, neck and/or décolleté).

The principle consists of inducing thermal damage to the deep layers of the skin to produce skin regeneration and stimulate collagen production.

After healing, the skin is smoother and more even, pores are tightened and fine lines and scars are less visible or invisible.

Treated Conditions:

  • Acne Scars
  • Anti-Aging
  • Dilated Pores
  • Scars
  • Skin Imperfections
  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles

What zones can be treated?

CO2 laser resurfacing is mostly on the face, neck and décolleté. These areas, often exposed to the sun, are more prone to the appearance of imperfections, fine lines or unsightly pigment spots, acne scars or unattractive enlarged pores.

The treatment can therefore be applied to the entire face, neck and décolleté or only to a limited area of the face that you wish to improve:

  • The area around the eyes
  • Fine lines around the mouth or upper lip
  • The forehead
  • The neck
  • The cleavage

Dr. Boudana frequently uses CO2 laser skin resurfacing after lower eyelid surgery to refine the result of the procedure.

  • Duration:
    25-30 min
  • Pain level:
    4/10
  • Maintenance:
    1 time a year

Procedure details

The treatment is performed under topical anaesthesia, which means that an anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin several minutes before the procedure. After fitting you with protective glasses, the CO2 laser is applied to the area to be treated.

You will be able to go home immediately after the treatment.

After the CO2 laser session, you will receive an instruction sheet to tell you how to care for your skin.

You will need to apply a moisturizing and soothing cream for a few days after the procedure.

Swelling after the treatment is normal, and ice can be applied to help reduce swelling. Sleeping with an extra pillow for a few days to elevate your head may also help reduce swelling.

Scabbing may occur in the days following the treatment, but full healing usually takes between five and seven days. Redness may persist for a few weeks after treatment depending on the patient.

What are the risks of injectable dermal fillers?

Results

You will notice an improvement in skin texture, irregularities, and dilated pores in the weeks following the treatment. Similarly, acne scars and fine lines generally fade a few weeks after CO2 laser resurfacing.
